First Steps, Pre-Primary, Primary
Age guideline: 2½ to 6
The elite, classical training of our students is unique in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area. With an emphasis on age-appropriate, developmentally sound instruction, we instill in our students simple yet correct technique, musicality, proper form, and a full range of dynamic movement qualities. As the beginning phases of ballet training are some of the most important, the most experienced ballet teachers conduct these lessons. Classes are limited to eight students. These classes must have at least four students enrolled in order for classes to be held.
First Steps is a class held in 5-week sessions for our very youngest dancers, age 2½-3, taught by faculty member Lauren Hawkes.
To enroll in First Steps, children must be toilet trained and able to be in the studio without a parent. Children must be able to follow directions and must not have behavioral issues.
