The Classical Ballet Dancer:  From Studio to Stage

Ages 9 to 23

 Dancers must be at an appropriate level for their age to participate.

Develop both artistry and technique with in-depth coaching in classical répertoire in addition to daily technique and pointe classes.  Each week of the intensive focuses on a different ballet and ends with an in-studio performance.  Participation in the full three weeks is required for students who are joining or re-joining Elite A or B in Fall 2019.

Monday-Thursday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Friday, 10:00 am - 6:30 pm (performance 6:00 pm)

Week 1:  La Bayadère
Week 2:  Paquita
Week 3:  Sleeping Beauty

Faculty includes Hans Nelson (BCXIV Artistic Director), Jennifer Boothe (BCXIV Faculty), Laurie Dodge (Jazz),
Anjana Duff (Yoga), and others.

Dress Code

Girls:

Leotard:  tank style or spaghetti strap, any solid color
Please have a white leotard for performances.
Pink tights
Pink canvas split-sole ballet shoes
Dancers age 9-10 should bring a white ballet skirt.

Age 11 and above:
Pointe shoes
Classical practice tutu, white

Dancers of color may wear flesh tone tights and shoes.

Boys:

Fitted white t-shirt
Gray tights
White canvas split-sole ballet shoes
White dance socks
Dancebelt

Tuition

One week:  $300

Two weeks:  $500

Three weeks:  $600

Tuition is due upon registration. 

 Before & After Care Available from 8am-6pm:

One week: $100

Two weeks: $180

Three weeks: $250


Class Placement

The first day of the intensive will be a placement class to determine dancers’ level. Dancers are placed by ability rather than age.
